Django Reinhardt & Jazz Guitar are two inseparable names in world music history. He was the first major European jazz musician. The century-old musician has always been recognized for his extraordinary jazz talent, which brings revolution to instigate a major musical movement in Europe. Django Reinhardt was born on 23 January 1910 in Liberchies, Belgium.

Romani-French jazz guitarist and composer, Django Reinhardt was unique in the 20th Century, rather till now. French-Italian violinist Stéphane Grappelli, the pair formed the Quintette du Hot Club de France in 1934. During the 2nd World War, he had carried on performing live in Nazi-occupied Paris. When many gypsies were killed by Nazis his special talent of music gave chance to survive thanks to the protection of several jazz-loving Nazi officers.  He recorded 70 songs. After the war, Reinhardt rejoined Grappelli in the UK.  In 1946, he toured for the first time in the United States.

For most of his career, Reinhardt played jazz in the swing style that reached its epitome of success & popularity in the 1930s.  He made an awesome number of recordings, producing over 900 sides between 1923 and 1953, using an instrument never before associated with leading any band.

Due to a devastating fire, the fourth and fifth fingers of his left hand were totally out of work. He conceives new ways to state chords with just three fingers. In 1953, Reinhardt passed away at the age of just 43. But over the last few decades, annual Django festivals have been held throughout Europe and the U.S. In the year 2017,  the world premiere of the French film Django in the Berlin International Film Festival.
