Canadian rock icon Bryan Guy Adam, aka Bryan Adam the sexagenarian multi talented artist was born on 5 November 1959. The Canadian singer has been an important part of modern rock music since his record breaking album Cuts Like a Knife, in 1983. From where he rose to fame. His 1985 album Reckless has sold more than ten million copies, that’s undoubtedly awesome.

The global music icon is not only a singer but guitarist, composer, record producer, photographer, philanthropist, and activist. From the very tender age of 10 he was kin to make music, when he got his first electric guitar. Adams started working in the Vancouver music scene with bands and as a studio session singer, which paid the rent. At the age 14 moved to Vancouver and started auditioning as a guitarist. At the age of 15, he became the vocalist for a pub band Sweeney Todd. “Roxy Roller” was the first song recorded by the band, which topped Canadian chart. He met drummer Jim Vallance in 1977 and the two began creating music. Adams was signed A&M Records to a recording contract at age 18 for one dollar in 1978. He has released 14 albums since then.

Adams’s first solo album, Bryan Adams, was unsuccessful. He’s best known for his 1984 album Reckless. “Heaven”, “Run to You,” and “Summer of ’69” are the record breaking numbers from the album. Adam’s second album was You Want It, You Got It. Adam’s third album “Cuts Like A Knife” became a sensational hit in 1983. The album was named the same & was a moderate success. Bryan has delivered massive hits like Summer Of ’69, 18 Till I Die and (Everything I Do) I Do It For You etc.

When Reckless created the ambiance by being number one on both the Billboard 200 and the Canadian Album Chart, while reaching number 2 in Australia and number 7 in the UK. “It’s Only Love” was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Rock Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group.

Adams’s super hit, “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You,” was specifically written for the 1991 movie Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.Adams co-wrote two tracks for the album, recorded by Roger Daltrey’s sixth solo album, Under a Raging Moon. Among the two songs  “Let Me Down Easy” was a Top 15 Hit on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Tracks. Adam penned other soundtrack songs were ‘Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman?’ from Don Juan de Marco; and ‘All For Love’ from The Three Musketeers. In the film Top Gun he allowed to lend his number “Only the Strong Survive,” , because of the plot of the movie. He has been nominated for 3 Academy Awards. Adams co-wrote and sang on the UK number one song for Chicane’s album Behind the Sun called Don’t Give Up. His musical career also includes several collaborations and duets. Like Tina Turner, Sarah McLachlan, Chicane etc.

Adams recorded “Tears Are Not Enough” to earn money for famine relief in Ethiopia. In 1987 album Into the Fire was also a protest album, with a rebel number “Native Son” about a veteran of World War I.

Bryan Adam accolades with 20 Juno Awards among 56 nominations and 15 Grammy Award nominations.
