Carlos Santana 10 GRAMMY Awards winner world famous Mexico born guitarist, Carlos Santana was born on July 20,1947.At the age of 13 he formed the SANTANA band. Previously known as Santana Blues Band in 1960.
Signed by Columbia Records the band SANTANA broke a lot of records initiated with the album Abraxas then followed Lotus & Amigos. Carlos the face of the Band. Woodstock festival in 1969 gave popularity to the Band in global stage to the audience worldwide. Carlos was unique with his style of music, the beauty of Latin and
African rhythms gave extraordinary touch to the numbers made by them.
‘Supernatural’ (1999) is considered by many to be Carlos Santana’s greatest work. It became the Album of the Year, received eleven Grammy awards, and sold over 25 million copies worldwide. It included such hits as “Smooth” and “Maria Maria” and featured guest artists Rob Thomas, Wyclef Jean, Eric Clapton, and Dave Matthews among others.
Carlos Santana’s “Evil Ways” not at all took any vicious way to intrude to the
heart of the people widely as the album with top10 hits ruled the Billboard’s album
chart for 2years.Supernatural has been a big comeback for them as in 1999 it earned them
Grammy again. In 2009 Carlos Santana got Billboard Lifetime Achievement Award.
