Santoor maestro Shivkumar sharma passed away on the evening of May 10, 2022. He was 84 years old. The Santoor maestro was born in in Jammu, on 13 January, 1938. He has introduced with santoor at the tender age of 5.
Shivkumar Sharma became a household name with his rendition of traditional Indian music which he combined with contemporary Indian styles like Hindustani classical music and folk music to create a signature sound that is unmatched till date.
He composed music for a number of Indian films, including Faasle, Chandni, Lamhe, and Darr. Under the name Shiv-Hari he collaborated with Indian flutist Hariprasad Chaurasia. He has been awarded with Padma Shri in 1991, Padma Bhushan in 2001 and Sangeet Natak Akadem in 1986. To Santoor Maestro Shivkumar Sharma, we the Plugintutor family express our deep condolences.
