Cakewalk, the former Boston, Massachusetts-based music production software company created Sonar as a (DAW) digital audio workstation. It was acquired by Singaporean music company BandLab Technologies and renamed Cakewalk by BandLab. BandLab’s free DAW offers the same functionality as its predecessor, minus the bundled third-party software. The DAW itself is fast, reliable, and ready to use on your Windows machine.
