On 1^st May 1919 the music maestro took birth in Calcutta. Prabodh Chandra Dey ,who named as Manna Dey was a legendary personality in Indian Music . He did his schooling from Scottish Church Collegiate School& pre university from Scottish Church College. In music he took interest & highly inspired by his own paternal uncle Sangeetacharya Krishna Chandra Dey.

He worked by making pairs with several music geniuses like Santoor maestro Shivkumar Sharma being called Shiv-Hari , with Violin player Bhubaneswar Misra the duo renowned as Bhuban- Hari and given lots of popular melodious musical notes for Indian movies.
