TimeStretch

Time Stretch

TimeStretching, is the process to modify or undo & redo tempo when pitch is unaffected. It can be used to remarkably slow down or speed up an Audio Event.

TimeStretch has three parameters –

  1. tempo (You need to adjust the speed of sample without effecting pitch)
  2. pitch (You need to adjust the speed of sample without effecting the tempo)
  3. sample rate (You need to change the sample rate that effect both tempo and pitch)

BPM –  Beats per minute is a unit which used as a measure of tempo. To raise the bpm of a sample, we must reduce it’s length ( time-stretch less than 100% ), to decrease the bpm, increase it’s length ( time-stretch more than 100% ).

For example to get a sample of 90 bpm to be 120 bpm (without changing the pitch) we have to apply the timestretch by 75%.

Since tempo, rate and pitch are floating-point values, where as sample rates are integers values.
